Sorry but sometimes, not always, the colors are off/yellowish when my is taking picts of bright things.l acquired a large lot of some RARE railroad/railway related, old envelopes, stamps, antique ephemera, ect. and of mostly defunct railroads.
This is an interesting and unusual piece. According to the son[Charlie] to his father letter, much to the happiest of Charlie, the caricature is of the newly elected Mayor of Rochester in 1876. IF I did my research correctly, he served as mayor from 1876 - 1890 then as a N.Y. senator from 1892 until his death in 1901.Apparently there was a lumber company named \"Otis Lumber\" that I believe started around 1825 in Rochester. I didn\'t look too much further but I\'m guessing it is part of this same lumber outfit?The letter is in very nice condition with nothing on the back.PLEASE ask questions and do your research before you offer and BE SURE it is what you want so we don\'t have to go through the hassles and costs of returning. Thank you.
