This beautiful carte de visite (CDV) photograph measures approximately 6.4cms by 9.9cms and is in good condition.
Photographed by the Southwell brothers of London we see the new Princess of Wales, Alexandra with her younger sister Princess Dagmar of Denmark, later Empress Maria Feordrovna of Russia.
The photograph has a detailed backdrop with the sisters at a piano that Alexandra is playing and Dagmar is turning the pages. There is a slight amount of fading present but the image is still clear and has nice contrasting tones.
The card mount is in good uncreased condition, if a little grubby at the edges. The reverse of the card has a pencil inscription that reads, "Princess of Wales Princess Dagmar".
