This beautifully framed portrait of Maj Gen George McClellan from the Civil War era is a must-have for any militaria collector. The portrait was engraved by R. Dudensing and is an original piece from the period. The Conflict aspect of this item is the Civil War (1861-65), and it was manufactured in the United States. This portrait was published in 1863 by Virtue and Co, NY and is made from a steel plate engraving by R. Dudensing. The page measures 11" x 8 1/2" and is framed in a plain black and glass frame. The print has the sub heading "Union Major General in Chief of the Armies of the United States, which at the time of the publication was true. He was shortly thereafter replaced by the soon to be promoted to Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant.
