1860s 2 rare original hand-coloured albumen photographs men in military uniforms:

Militaria - TWO unusual original hand-coloured albumen photographs mounted on card. Both of a good size. Circa early 1860s. One of a soldier in Scottish uniform, and the other in what looks like a Turkish uniform with sword. Both men sporting mutton-chop beards. The photographs are both mounted on card, one bearing a studio blind stamp in lower margin 'Mr. Kilburn / 222 Regent Street / By appointment' [William Edward Kilburn (1818-1891)].Size: 23.4cm x 15.2cm and 21.7cm x 16.2cm. Condition: one quite closely trimmed on each side. The other mounted without margins. A few light scattered surface blemishes to both photographs, but generally very good. The reverse sides with minor handling marks and dirt, and light mounting residue.
