This is a rare sapphire blue early pontiled whiskey decanter from the mid 1800s....it has no embossing...Free blown with no mold seams...rough pontil scar on bottom....big flared bar lip with ring on neck....deep sapphire or peacock blue.....round ovoid shape with long sloping shoulder....11 3/4\"tall....Good condition with only a small chip & a couple hard to see surface bruises at base on back; no other damage. A shiny clean bottle with no haze. Displays great. This is a very hard to find early blue pontiled decanter from the 1840s or 1850s... ..
