TheModel 1832 foot artillery swordisa 25-inch (64cm) short-swordwith a straight, double-edgedbladeand brass-mounted leather scabbard. This sword was used in the second seminole War and American Civil War.
This is a very nice model 1832 Artillery sword & scabbard combo !

The scabbard comes complete with theoriginal \"frog\" (belt holder).This is a rare combo to find !

The hand guard is personalized by creating dimples to make \"L2\", which is the abbreviation for Second Lieutenant. I do not know the name of this individual.

The blade of this sword has a half dozen or so blade chips from combat use (see the last picture).

All the markings are correct.
Condition is overall very good with no major detraction. Both sides of the blade are very sharp. There is a small tear/crease in the middle of the scabbard and functions as it should (see pictures). There are two rivets holes on the brass plate of the scabbard\'s toe. One of the small rivets are missing, but does not visually detract or have any functional impact.
