This is a rare early Washington Eagle historical flask from the 1820s that is grouped by McKearin as GI-2...It was possibly blown at the Kensington Glass Works in Philadelphia in the mid 1820s, or possibly another glasshouse that was using the same mold maker?..... GENERAL WASHINGTON. boldly emb around a bust of Washington in uniform.....Back has plain beaded oval with large bold emb eagle, Union shield, 4 thunderbolts ...no rays or any embossing in beaded oval.....ribbed sides...Open pontil....smooth sheared lip...aqua...pint....6 3/8\"tall....Excellent shiny attic near mint condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean flask with no haze. Some normal high point wear,mainly on Washingtons face. Someone put 3 little clay pads on bottom to help stabilize the flask.
