This is a sparkling attic mint early 3 pc mold blown pontiled flint glass quart decanter from the 1810-1830 era with an original matching sunburst blown 3 mold stopper!... This early New England flint glass decanter was most likely made at either the Keene Marlboro St Glassworks or the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. It is listed as McKearin GIII-5 in "American Glass", page 254. This sparkling mint decanter has sunburst in square pattern...diamond hobnail squares alternating with the sunburst squares.....vertical ribs around base......diagonal lines slanting to left....vertical lines/ribs around shoulder.......... Hand blown in 3 piece mold....rough pontil scar on bottom....wide thick flared ring lip....clear flint glass....9"tall (10 1/8"counting stopper)...quart size.....Original period sunburst stopper fits snug when twisted. Decanter is sparkling attic mint condition with no chips or damage of any kind to either bottle or stopper. Sparkling clean with no haze... About the finest possible example you will find! It came from an old New England collection originally, and from the "Shovelin Shelley & Digger Dave Beeler" Collection....
