This is an awesome rock just as a display piece or a small amount of lapidary material to make unique American jade jewlery, it\'s a bit challenging to get an even shape due to the difference in hardness between the nephrite jade and white serpentine which also contains flecks of nephrite and green coloration at times, but besides that it\'s quite a treat to work with. The heavily nephrite sections have a more traditional jade structure which isn\'t scratched by a steel knife

This was hand collected non invasively from a river bank on an undisclosed location within Mendocino county, CA. It\'s very similar to the material found in covelo, just more weathered. This is not a piece of jade harvested under unethical or unknown standards, you are buying directly from the person who pulled it out of the river.
