This is an antique ruby ambrotype photograph of a father, mother and young son. See all photos. This half plate ruby ambrotype is in overall excellent, used condition. It is 4.25” x 5.5”. It is found in an antique thermoplastic wall frame which, according to Paul Berg‘s book “Nineteenth Century Photograhic Cases and Wall Frames”, this frame, 7-10 Four Roses, is considered very very rare. The wall frame is approximately 7 inches wide and 8 inches tall, as is, with multiple cracks. See all photos. Made in the USA circa 1850. … … … … … ….
