This is a very rare Westminster chime mechanical clock. The clock case has been beautifully restored. The wood is not flawless. Our goal is not to remove every imperfection in the wood. For many collectors this takes away from the history of the clock. We aim to remove the years of wax/soot/oil/gunk that collects on clocks over a period of decades, and restore the original color and shine to the wood. The Brass is also cleaned up. My restoration guy did what I consider to be a masterful job with this clock. It looks amazing.These clocks are rare in that they only have two drive trains (two winding holes). Most Westminster mechanical clocks use 3 holes. While rare, they are also notorious for being very challenging to work on. As I have no experience with these movements, nor any spare parts for them, I opted not to do a full teardown of the movement. I did a basic cleaning of the movement, and properly oiled the mainsprings and pivots. The clock has completed multiple 8 day tests and works well. The clock has a \"silent\" feature, which turns off the Westminster chimes, but it will chime at the top of the hour, but not the Westminster melody, just a single repetitive chime for the number of hours.
The clock is 22\" long, 10\" tall, and 5 and a half inches deep.If you have no experience with mechanical clocks, I would prefer that you refrain from buying. Mechanical clocks are complex timepieces. If you have experience with mechanical clocks, and are interested in this piece, bear in mind that the movement is rare and if it needs work in the future, it is no simple task, and a professional repair shop will probably charge a lot of for the repair. You are buying the clock + weight + key seen in the pictures. It will be very carefully packaged and shipped promptly.
