illustratedby Dale Messick, was in print from 1940 to 2011.In 1980,

Ramona Fradon joined the strip as artist and Messickcontinued to

scriptBRENDAfor another two years.In 1982, Linda Sutterpicked up

the writing chores and she stayed until 1985. Sutter was replacedby

Mary Schmich. Fradon retired in 1995 and was replaced byJune Brigman,

who remained as artist to the conclusion of the series.
