Fantastic Pocket Dragons hand-painted TV animation artwork -- the original production cel of a large blue Sparkles the Dragon on its matching hand-painted TV production background. The cel is 12½ x 10½ inches. The background is 14 x 10 inches (plus an additional 1 inch alignment hole extension) and is the original hand-painted TV background (i.e., is not a reprint nor some other form of reproduction). Pocket Dragon Adventures (in Spanish known as only Pocket Dragons) is a 1998 syndicated animated television series produced by Spanish animation D\'Ocon Films, in co-production with Televisión Española, Bohbot Entertainment, and DIC Productions. One hundred four (104) eleven-minute TV episodes were produced and aired as 52 half-hour episodes in the United States. Some countries aired them as 15-minute programs, such as in the United Kingdom, where the series ran seven days a week on BBC1 and BBC2 television for six years.

The cartoon, Pocket Dragons, is about a group of very small dragons who live with a kindly old wizard, and involves their many adventures. Sparkles is a full-sized dragon who\'s not very bright. Sparkles is able to float through the air by inflating himself like a balloon. Sparkles was voiced in the series by Robert O. Smith.

The series is based on the Pocket Dragon characters created by artist Real Musgrave, best known from Pocket Dragons figurines that are also based on his work. The series was produced by Bohbot Entertainment and D\'Ocon Films Productions. The show itself was created by Craig Miller and Marv Wolfman, who produced and story edited the series. Together or separately, they wrote over 40% of the 104 episodes. Pocket Dragon Adventures was also the first animated series that signed a labor contract with the Writers Guild of America.
