Historic Acoma Pueblo Native American pottery piece by Lucy M. Lewis, signed on underside. This miniature platter/plate shows Lucy\'s famous fine line patterns with abstract figures of a bird and fish zigzagging. Her fine line work inspired other Acoma artists to follow similar painting styles.
Lucy\'s works are held in museums throughout the world, and she has been compared to Jackson Pollock and Pablo Picasso for her innovative art style. In 1983, Lewis was invited to the White House and received the Governor\'s Award of New Mexico for her contributions to the world of art.
Condition: Great overall original condition, some minor wear areas and paint loss/fading due to age (please see photos). Kindly sold as-is.
