This is a cel of the character Konaki-Jiji from "GeGeGe no Kitarō", a Japanese manga series created in 1960 by Shigeru Mizuki. We believe this is a cel frame from the third animated version that ran from 1985-1988, with character design by Yoshinori Kanemori (as opposed to the 2007 reboot with character design by Ken Ueno). This is original animation cel painting number B-16.Size: Standard 10.5" x 9" TV Cel"Konaki-Jiji" (Old Man Crybaby) is an old yokai with the power of turning himself into a statue.
The cel has a beautiful multicolored 18" x 17" frame from Gaku custom framing in New York.
