This is just a great original piece. Truthfully, this might be one my favorite purchases of the last few years. I am always a fan of great graphics and the more 20th Century Americana, the better. This one is about as prewar small town America as you get. This is an original broadside from sometime around the1930s to the early 1940s for the Marblehead Street Fair in Massachusetts. A one day fair from \'dawn to midnight\'. Silkscreen on cardboard measuring 22 x 14 inches. Incredible lettering and the image of the town of Marblehead combined with the color choices against the black. Overall outstanding condition. The only issue at all is the faint amount of discoloration in the white background at the top. Really not bad at all and the colors are so strong and the black border are great that it really is outstanding.To make this piece even better is that this piece was printed by Daddy Scott Toy Company. There is an original oval label attached to the bottom left corner of the broadside. Daddy Scott was a company that was started in 1918 by Toy Maker Hugh David who was the real Daddy Scott. The Marblehead Massachusetts Daddy Scott Toy Company is now a Heritage site. The company was a maker of Toys, Windmills, Novelties, and wood pull toys. They made children\'s toys for toy stores and also made American advertising displays for stores such as the Rexall Store & other manufacturing enterprises of the 1930 period. Daddy Scott items are incredibly collectable.Do your own research on this broadside poster. I am guessing this quite well might be the only example of this piece in existence. There might be one or two others in the Marblehead Historical Society, the Peabody Essex, or perhaps the Cape Ann Museum but none out there that I can find. Worldcat shows no examples.
