General Henri-Gratien Bertrands breeches and gloves

- c. 1812-1815

General Bertrand managed the Imperial household during Napolons reign, and accompanied him into exile on Elba Island and later, St. Helena Island. He was the main executor of the Emperors will. Worn on ceremonial occasions, these breeches (or culottes) were part of his official uniform as Grand Marshal of the Palace.
