Important,19th century, French Onyx, Champlevé, gilt - and silvered bronze Jardinière,

Centerpiece andmost probably work by Eugene Cornu.

Thisexquisite quality, Napoleon III Centrepiece around 1860-1880.

OvalOnyxgilt and silvered bronze mounted Jardinière set with enamel plaquesall around.

Each sideflanked by a silvered bronze Putto as handle with double patina.

Front andback each centered by a medaillon with a classical female mask.

Originalmetal linerpresent.

Marks:

Partlydemounted it showed following stamp "..78 MASSELOTTE" in oneof the bronze rings (photo at disposal)

Althoughnot signed, but similar pieces can be found with the Eugene Cornu signature, Paris and the Algerian Onyxmines.
