Confessions/Convictions Jesse&Stephen Boorn, Wrongful Conviction 1819:
$95.00

This is a detailed analysis of the murder trial of Jesse and Stephen Boorn who were convicted of killing their brother-in-law in 1819. The murdered individual was found alive, uncooperative, but tricked into returning home. Ultimately the brothers were exonerated but this was the first wrongful conviction documented in the US. An uncle claimed devine intervention (a dream) to corroborate the crime and a cell mate testified that Jesse had confessed the murder to him. This pamphlet provides great details on the crime and trial. This is an especially nice copy. This was written by Leonard Sargeant who was the original defense counsel.
