1897 UNION PACIFIC tall railroad lantern with a clear cast Union Pacific "The Overland Route" shield clear cast globe. The frame is an Adams & Westlake "The Adams" and is embossed on the shoulder "UNION PACIFIC." The frame is in excellent condition; stands straight and has no extra holes drilled, bent, broken or missing parts. Overall smooth metal with some tin showing thru on the cage. It comes with A&W fuel fount and a brass threaded burner which appears should still hold oil and burn if desired. I am unable to test it but I don't see any holes or rust through, but I can't guarantee it would hold fuel based on its age. The wick is new and moves up and down easily. The globe is cast with the Union Pacific Overland Route shield as well as the CNX Corning logo. The globe is in excellent condition. As with any globe that was used in actual railroad service there are some minor chips or chiggers on the rims that don't show when the globe is seated in the lantern frame
