pre-WWI Era US Army Transitional Khaki Tan Canvas T-Handle Shovel Cover- Marked: RIA 1909 - Original - Unissued Condition

Up for Sale is a pre-WWI Era US Army Transitional Canvas T-Handle Shovel Cover. The cover is the early Khaki Tan color. It is marked: RIA 1909. This is an early transitional cover, with the early leather strap and the new M1910 belt hook. These were originally made with the Krag Style hook. The hooks were removed and the new M1910 belt hooks were installed. No rips or tears. No fraying. Some storage and handling soiling on the rear. The cover is Unissued, please see photos for condition. These are getting somewhat difficult to find. Especially with this early transitional versions. These were used with the M1910 & M1928 Haversack Pack System.

This is a necessaryitem for any WWI Field Gear Collection.
