The original Buckhorn Saloon in San Antonio, Texas, was quite a unique establishment. It was founded by Albert Friedrich in 1881 and became famous for its collection of wild animal trophy mounts. Albert started the collection with his own hunting trips and by purchasing trophies from other hunters. He even offered a drink to anyone who brought in a set of horns to add to the display! The saloon featured an array of fascinating exhibits, including deer heads, African animal heads, cattle horn freaks, foreign horns, and even sheep and goat heads. Quite the eclectic mix! 🦌🐐🍻
