You are offerding on one AS-IS lot of two Gage transitional wood planes as pictured.

Included are:

--- the plane on the left in the first picture, which is marked \"GAGE TOOL CO VINELAND NJ\" on the front end, unmarked on the back end, \"GAGE SELF-SETTING\" on the iron,and there are some faint patent dates on the block attached to the front of the iron.The body is about 2-7/8\" in width and about 10\" in length. The iron is about 2\" in width and is getting quite short as it is only about 3-3/16\" in length.

The biggest condition issues are that the body is getting thin, and the iron is getting quite short. The wood body has a variety of stains and chips. The front knob has some tight checks, and the upper horn of the rear handle has been spliced back together (fairly neatly) as can be seen. The top plate for the handle appears to have been cleaned, while most of the plane would benefit from a cleaning. The frog and iron and cap have some scattered little bits of rust. Except as noted, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything operates properly.

The wood body had a variety of stains and chips, and some cracks visible in the sole. The rear handle appears intact, but it might have been repainted (I can\'t tell for sure), and the top screws don\'t sit flush. Again the frog and iron and cap have some scattered little bits of rust. Except as noted, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything operates properly.

USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASES: I use the Post Office for everything, and yes, the shipping charges just keep going up and up. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it\'s not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20\" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30\" long, because those longer packages won\'t fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights.I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.

SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including .
