Here is the perfect gift for any police officer. The details of the pen pay homage to those who put their lives on the line every day. The back end of the pen features a rotary-engraved and enamel filled detail of a traditional police badge; featuring the words: Police Dept. A laser engraved Coat of Arms symbol resides on the pen top and is framed by commemorative casted laurel branches mirrored on the pen tip. The pen clip features an enameled Thin Blue line. The click mechanism is the same super quiet, smooth action and reliable click mechanism found in our Vertex click pens. Includes a smooth writing Parker style refill.
Sometimes called Mexican Ebony because of its extreme density and deep brown color, Katalox has become known as one of the stiffest and strongest woods available. The heartwood is a rich, dark brown with notes of violet and purple, and darkens to nearly black with age. The creamy-white sapwood complements the darker heartwood nicely.
As a world renowned artisan, I was able to form this fine writing instrument through a painstaking process that involved several hours and stages in order to present a finely polished work of art. The blank was measured and drilled before inserting a brass tube. It was then trued on each end before being placed on my Rikon midi-lathe for the shaping using various chisels. When the desired shape was achieved I then took it through a multi-stage sanding process finishing with nine steps of micro-mesh, followed by a three step polishing with Aussie Oil resulting in a glass like finish.
