I hadn't bought any single comic issues online before, I usually go for a full omnibus, so I don't know what standard packaging is for something like this, but I can't imagine it could get much better than this one. The comic was in a plastic sleeve with thick poster board. It was then taped between four thick pieces of cardboard to prevent bending, cuts, and minor punctures. I don't see how it could be shipped more safely without wrapping it in chainmail. It got here faster than expected too.
