This theater poster was sent to film cinemas in FRANCE for marketing purposes of this special cartoon compilation of Tex Avery classic cartoons from as early as the 1930s. Condition is VERY GOOD+ to FINE. Poster measures 23 x 31 1/4 inches and is referred to in France as an AFFICHE. The poster has a natural, age-appropriate look, with original folds, and edgewear, very minor creases. See photo. Very simple linen backing would totally eliminate any minor flaws. 2000.Tex Avery Follies the 2000 French animated cartoon compilation featuring many Tex Avery cartoons. Note that Fred \"Tex\" Avery was one of the greatest legends of Hollywood animation. He started working for Walter Lantz on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in the early 1930s. He moved to Warner Bros. in 1935, where he became a legend, working on the Merry Melodies and Looney Tunes series, creating or developing the best remembered Warner Bros. cartoon characters, including Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, and others. In 1941, after a disagreement, he briefly worked on a series called \"Speaking of Animals\", where real animals \"talked\" with animated lips, but he soon signed a contract with MGM, where he did even more wonderful work than before. He developed an entirely new type of cartoon (his MGMs are instantly recognizable as being \"Tex Averys\"), and they include characters such as Droopy, The Wolf, Red Hot Riding Hood, and many others. He is one of the greatest animators ever, and posters from his cartoons are difficult to obtain, and are highly sought after by collectors
