Replacement gears for cigarette/lipstick (mosque)music boxes.

I’ve beenrestoring/collecting music boxes for quite some time. A common issue with the cigarette carouselsometimes called a mosque is broken gears.This issue is most likely caused by trying to force open the doors ofthe unit when the music has stopped playing.The old gears just can’t take that abuse.

Originalreplacement gears are extremely difficult if not impossible to source and mostrestorers have been cannibalizing other carousels for their gears.

With theinvention of 3D printing a door has opened to manufacture new, quality gears. The problem has always been the writing ofthe program to produce the gears; it's very expensive to have it done correctly. Aftera number of out-sourcing attempts I finally invested in the services of aprofessional engineering firm to create the program and produce gears torestore some of the carousels I have.I’m offering sets of gears to others in need in an attempt to get theprice of the final product down.

The gears offeredare more robust and of better material than the originals.

If you havea broken gear, you most likely would benefit from a full set of gears and Irecommend that you change all of them at the same time to avoid multiplerepairs; that’s why they are offered in a set of 6.
