Our design uses Baroque styling and rich accents to communicate a celebration of deep, long-lasting love - from overlapping and entangled swirls that form a heart on the pen end, a red heart on the pen top to the casted detail band with two hearts linking together. Slim design, lightweight, and well-balanced. Includes a smooth writing Parker style refill.
Cedar is narrow and slightly lighter than the bright, clear yellow heartwood. It has a slight pleasant odor. The wood is moderately heavy, soft, fine textured, straight grained, easily worked and durable. It is rated as moderate in strength, stiffness, hardness and shock resistance. There is a slight dulling effect on cutting edges, but it usually finishes very well.
As a world renowned artisan, I was able to form this fine writing instrument through a painstaking process that involved several hours and stages in order to present a finely polished work of art. The blank was measured and drilled before inserting a brass tube. It was then trued on each end before being placed on my Rikon midi-lathe for the shaping using various chisels. When the desired shape was achieved I then took it through a multi-stage sanding process finishing with nine steps of micro-mesh. I then coated it with boiled linseed oil mixed with medium cyanoacrylate and then a coat of thin cyanoacrylate, repeated those two steps, followed by a three step polishing with Aussie Oil. I then put on several coats of carnauba wax resulting in a durable glass like finish.
