Original Photograph of Fruit Packing Plant in Wenatchee, WA, c1920s 8x10 photograph of American Fruit Growers packing plant in Wenatchee, Washington, c1920, by Simmer Studio. American Fruit Growers was active in Washington in the 1920s and may be related to a company currently operating there by the same name, but we have been unable to determine that for sure. The company apparently owned orchards in Wenatchee and Yakima. Alfred G. Simmer (1876-1958) was a photographer with a studio in Wenatchee 1917-1926. Simmer was a German who came to Wenatchee in 1921 and set up a studio. He was known for taking photographs related to the apple industry, as well as individual portraits and portraits of Native Americans. Most of his negatives were destroyed in a fire in 1939. The photographers credit is in the bottom left corner. Very good condition. Some writing on the back side noting the subject matter.
