Item 484900-9 ◊ c. 1917 Type-1 Press Photograph, WWI Soldier Standing Guard by a Makeshift Hut

Rare and fantastic photographs, \"c. 1917 Type-1 Press Photograph, WWI Soldier Standing Guard by a Makeshift Hut or Bower.\"  We received this photo along with other Type-1 Press Photographs and other promo photos, which were released by  News Agencies from  the UK, and the USA, during the war.

This wonderful WWI Type 1 Press Photograph measures measures approx. 7-3/4\" X 5-7/8” (≈19 cm. X 14.75 cm.)  It shows a lone soldier on guard duty standing in front of a guard hut or bower make from small branches and greenery.   Whether it was supposed to be camouflage or not is unknown.  Although there is no snow on the ground, the weather is obviously cold.   It looks like he\'s dressed pretty warmly.

Although we do not know the name of the photographer, the Press Photo carries the backstamp which says \"PASSED BY CENSOR.  Copyright Newspaper Illustrations LTD, 161^ Strand, WC, Copyright in America, International News Service, New York.\"

This impressive photo is in excellent condition. There is a tiny bit of creasing in one corner … barely noticeable. The surface in good shape, and the edges are strong.    There\'s a bit of curling to the photo, but the details of the photo are clear (although a bit out of focus in the foreground.  They didn\'t have digital cameras.  :-) . )

PLEASE NOTE: This is an original, ca. 1917 Type 1 Press Photograph - it is not a reprint, reissue, reproduction or modern printing but was printed from the original negative, by the original copyright holder shortly after the Photograph was taken - certainly less than 2 years which is the standard for Type 1 designation. The image is unconditionally guaranteed to be deemed an original, Type 1 Press Photo by any third party authentication.\"

Unique and historical \"c. 1917 Type-1 Press Photograph, WWI Soldier Standing Guard by a Makeshift Hut or Bower,\" and a great addition to any WWI photo collection
