Maker: This wonderful bouillon cup and saucer is by the legendary English china maker Cauldon. And it reflects that company\'s high quality: the fine bone china is thin and translucent and the craftsmanship is of a very high standard.
On the reverse of both pieces is the Cauldon England mark that was in use between 1905 and 1920. Cauldon became Royal Cauldon in 1920. It became part of Coalport in the 1960s and part of Wedgwood when Coalport was taken over.
Design: The pattern features a band of floral panels against a cream colored background of bone china between two thin blue geometric bands. The center is pure white.
The handwritten pattern number V6989 is on the reverse of each piece.
Size: The cup is 4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall. The saucer is 5 5/8 inches wide.
Condition: Both pieces are in good condition with no chips, nicks, marks, repairs or wear. There is a faint old hairline crack near the top of the cup - shown in the photos with the penny - and crazing on the cup.
Despite the damage, this remains a wonderful set that would make a great display on its own or as part of a collection of beautiful objects.
