Item 484201 ◊ c1903 RPPC Postcard of F.B. Hutchinson (Manager) & Family During Buffalo Bill\'s European Tour

Intriguing and historical \"c1905 RPPC Postcard of F.B. Hutchinson and family and friends.\" It is unknown whether this postcard was produced while they were traveling in Europe or later, when they returned home in 1907 (But we believe it is likely they were just being \"tourists making a record of their trip.) The card has typical postcard measurements of 5-1/2\" x 3-1/2\" (14 x 9 cm.) and it has split back. (We aren\'t sure when split backs started being used in Europe.)

Frederick Bailey Hutchinson was the Manager of Buffalo Bill\'s Wild West from 1902 to 1907, inclusive. He, his wife and daughter stand on the left. The photo was taken in front of a backdrop. We believe it was taken in Europe, because there is a unique backdrop behind them showing large waves in the sea, and a Grecian looking building behind them on the right.

So what do we know about this RPPC Postcard, Frederick B. Hutchinson and Buffalo Bill\'s Tour from 1903 to 1907? It could well have been a promotional postcard. WE don\'t claim to be experts about Buffalo Bill\'s tour F. B. Hutchinson was the manager of the tour, and we suspect that was a might responsibility.

But if you add the typical https: … to Bill — A Sketch … you will find a website entitled \"The William F. Cody Archive: Documenting the life and times of Buffalo Bill.\" ( does not allow us to put links in listings.)

There you will see first a message from Buffalo Bill, then chapters and chapters of information covering the 4 year tour, including the voyage to and from Europe, and traveling and performing in the UK, France, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Austro-Hungary, and Belgium.

We can say that this lovely \"RPPC photograph\" of F. B. Hutchinson and his entourage is in excellent condition, with only very minor dings and abrasions and the edges and corners are quite strong. There is some minor damage on the top left edge. But considering that it is approximately 120 years old, it is in great shape.
