Thisisa unique hand painted Yarmouth Coat of Arms porcelain serving platter from about 1908. The white porcelain is divided into four sections with flower decorations. It has the blue S Crown mark of Paul Donath who operated the Tiefenfurt Silesia factory (Schlesische Porzellan) from 1891 to 1918. The Coat of Arms incorporating royal lions and local herring was granted Great Yarmouth by Edward III in 1340 after the Battle of Sluys. The arms were not officially granted until December 16, 1908, perhaps the occasion for creating this unique item. The crest is a bit faded, the lions were likely once gold and the herring silver and there are a few small edge chips. Interestingly the crest is titled \"YARMOUTH\" below, no \"Great\". Weight is 12 ounces.
