Gaby (Gabriel Desmarais 1926-1991) was a world-famous Canadian photographer whose work covered the period 1947 to 1991. He was my father.

During that time, Gaby photographed crowned heads, world leaders, Nobel prize winners and legendary artists. His work was exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto and Moscow.

The photographs I am selling are originals, most printed on double weight paper. They are in mint condition.

Charles de Gaulle

(1890-1970)

Known as Le Général de Gaulle, Charles de Gaulle led the Free France against Nazi Germany and restored democracy in France after the war. He was twice elected President of the French republic. A leading historical figure of the 20th century. This was taken after his speech in Montreal city hall in 1967. A very rare portrait of him smiling !
