antique early coil Southeast Native American basket with fitted lid
1. good condition not perfect
2.excellent color
3.dark on the outside from being exposed and used, lite on the inside of the bowl and inside of the lid where not exposed
4. coils are wrapped around many pieces of wide grass, could be rye grass
5. these were made to be water tight, I have not tested this
6. they were also made to hold hot rocks, again I have not tested this
7. very solid and sturdy
8.this has anaroma inside, someone storedsomething aromatic in it
9. lid fits well, see the flange to hold it in place
10. I have shown the ending ends of the topand top ofbowl, see photo
11. ending coil on the bottom has come undone, see photo, this could be fixed, but is does allow you to view thegrasses
12. basket is very strong and you can tell by the color that it has age

1.top without the lid on 11.5 in.
2. around the middle 37 in.
3. height to top with lid on 10 in.
4. height to top without the lid 8 in.
5. coils about 3/8 in. across
