- Offered here is a very desirable rare pen tray that is part of the Tiffany Studios Chinese pattern in the gold dore patina.
- The pen tray is marked Tiffany Studios New York 1836 on the bottom. The patina is great. This is in outstanding condition. The actual patina is very bright gold.
- This rare pen tray is listed in William Holland's Tiffany Desk Set book as a rarity of "4" meaning it could take one to two years to find when this book was published in 2008.
- This is not the relatively common #1755 "1" rated pen tray. A photo of this smaller, rare pen tray is included next to the standard tray for the Chinese set. The large tray is in excellent condition, but it is not nearly as bright as the gold in the rare 1836 tray.
- This smaller, rarer pen tray is 9 1/2 inches long, and 3 inches wide. I have included photos of the #1755 Chinese pen tray that is 12 inches long and 3 3/4 inches wide for comparative purposes. I have also included a photo of the pen tray from the bookmark pattern has a flat bronze patina. Again, just for comparison purposes.
