This listing is for the early hanging hand made electric lantern shown. It is a thick, sturdy metal and a magnet sticks to it. So I\'m not sure if that is steel or tin.

It has a hand punched pattern on each of the four sides. It looks like a \"J\" to me.

The cross strips on the sideare not all attached at the bottom. Perhaps this is how/where you remove the light bulb? There are phillips heads screws attaching the roof to the base.

Inside this piece is an interesting flickering light bulb. We will sell this light bulb separately. But you can see it in the photo to further get an idea of the age of this.

Works great.

Not including the loop on the top, this measures approx 12\" high. The base measures approx 5\" square. The item is painted black.

It is dusty and dirty and I\'ll leave that cleaning for you as I don\'t want to disturb it\'s natural wear.
