you are admiring a unique and very rare original a-2 jacket. this is an aero leather clothing co. w535 ac 40-3785p contract, made in 1939. this is one of only 3500 made. it was worn by major Allan p. Forsythe an officer 11th bomb squad, in the cbi. included with the jacket is a tear sheet describing the 11th bs, noting that as of 1943, forsythe was a major in the unit. also included is a print out of an older interview with forsythe. about the jacket. it is a size 44, and in outstanding condition, having been relined, and the cuffs replaced. the original early war talon zipper is in perfect condition and works as it should. the \"mr jiggs\" patch is a reproduction made to exacting museums quality standards to replace the \"mr jigs\" patch that was once stitched on the jacket. it was incised, and made with proper no glow enamel, and oil paints. the blood chit on the back of the jacket is an original of the type made in in India at the beginning of wwll. this in keeping with the fact that forsythe was stationed in India before being stationed in china. though the jacket is in no issue wearable condition, I arm selling this jacket as a collectible. with that in mind, the measurements are as follows. laid flat, pit to pit: 22 3/4\". front length: 23 1/2\". sleeves from the shoulder seam to end of cuff: 25 1/2\". shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top back: 19\". back length, as. measured from the bottom of the stand collar to the bottom of the waistband: 25 1/2\".
