I have another of my Shortwave Royal classic radio work.
Specially Done, for all the good few of you, who always wants truly, the best of the best work done, on these zenith classic radios.For your consideration:Here is, one Original Zenith Rd -7000y Radio chassis 500MDR70 serial number 3437235And , it has the log.
Radio is Really Working Spectacular, And the FM (AFC Switch locks the stationsnicely), Playing So Rich gorgeously Mellows sound, like if you were listening to it in stereo. (Smile)
The ac power is not a zenith, but it is an old one that, i found lying around,is included here that work just fine.
have replaced some the Electrolytic capacitors known cause problems in this set with fresh ones.
As precautionary measure, to guarantee, it's Strong performance as of today time.I have Mutinously, cleaned all controls & switches, Tuning, gang variable capacitor, & Re- lubricated the function switch assembly.Actually, the chassis look so Spotless clean.And scoped all the stages. To Insure proper and strong signal amplification
The handle & antenna are perfectly fine.
This radio is in super, Extra ordinary working condition playing with great strong up front
sensitivity and gorgeously clarity of crisp crystal-clear sound.It just plays like a new Original, out of the factory, period!!
The bands selector is very smooth and accurate.
It tunes the stations on the dial scale, right on target.
The dial drum lights, Glows fantastically.
I have re-polished the chassis and the entire set to re-enhance it even more
I am dedicated to service these zenith radios, And I love repairing them as a hobby,
trying to make them work & to look like they were done in the 60's.I'll take deep pride doing this, and it takes a lot of, Caring love, Patience & consuming time to really making it Work & look the best as of today.
I play test the radio for several days, before putting it up in the sale, For Extra assurance!I can't make them mint (I wish I could but,
I certainly sure, I did the best possible to make them better to work & to operate.
