Yellowstone National Park: Six Un-posted Haynes \"Autochrome\" and \"Blue-Letter\" Postcards Haynes produced his \"Autochrome\" cards in 1904-06; the term is a trade name for photogravure. Printed by Glaser in Leipzig, then Prussia, all are undivided-backs, with either a bottom margin with red type or a side (end) margin with same. Ten subjects were produced.
(1-2) \"Golden Gate Canyon and Viaduct, Haynes Photo, Printed in Germany.\"
(3-4) \"Punch Bowl Spring,\" ditto. The \"blue-letters,\" named for their captions, by contrast were produced in 1906 by Brown and Bigelow of Minneapolis. They too are undivided-backs, with an end margin for captions. Again, ten cards were created as a set.
(5-6) \"Canyon from Artist\'s Point, Haynes Photo.\" (7-8) \"Emerald Pool,\" ditto. (9-10) \"Jupiter and Pulpit Terrace,\" ditto. (11-12) \"Lake Hotel,\" ditto. (cf. Saunders, Glimpses of Wonderland, pp. 93-95 and 128, 131).
