I would have to assume that St. Mary\'s Academy of Portland, Oregon did not offer a Yearbook in 1949.This is a do-it yourself Yearbook of memories.This was created by the student Mary Grace McDermott who went on to do the following:She joined the Daughters of Charity Convent and earned a Master\'s Degree while working at a leprosy clinic in New Orleans where she was known as Sister Raphael.During her years with theDaughters of Charity Convent she worked as a nurse in hospitals in St. Louis, San Francisco, New Orleans and Carville, Louisiana.In 1970 she joined the Peace Corps.After the Peace Corps she returned to Portland and did volunteer nursing at The Blanchet House.Mary Grace died at age 89.
As you look at the photos you will see that this Yearbook of memories was a very personal undertaking and documents much of St. Mary\'s Academy during those years that she attended.
