You are offerding on an X-Men Rogue production used hand painted animation cel, used to make one frame of action in Season 1 Episode 2 Night of the Sentinels, comes with five hand painted cels: (1) Rogue cel & (4) different mouth cels(I\'ve mounted on of them but you can easily swap them out), framing mat board as seen & backing board in resealable bag, overall size of mat board measures 14\"x11\" Nice example of animation history, the cel is a one of a kind piece!WHAT IS AN ANIMATION CEL? Animation cels are used in creating an animated sequence by hand, the planners take drawings(usually hand drawn pencil art) and transfer it to a transparent sheet of plastic(usually acetate) called a \"cel\". The outline is inked on one side of the cel(front) and the color is hand painted onto the other side. The cel is then laid on top of a background(quote often a hand painted or watercolored piece) and photographed in sequence. Played back at 12 or 24 frames second it gives the appearance of movement. Sometimes the next photograph will be the same cel with a minor change in eyes, mouth, arm, etc. Check out our other listings on !
