DESCRIPTION: This is the GREATEST sketch I have ever seen of PHOENIX,and therefor by extension the greatest sketch every done by mastercomic book artist PHILIP MOY.

This sketch isspecial because MOY has PERFECTLY captured the glee that hides thehorror underneath Jean Grey\'s beautiful exterior, something fewartists can really achieve. Check out that slight smirk, and those doll-eyesready to lay waste to a planet and laugh doing it.

Absolutely incredible, somehow he\'s got green and gold perfectly mixed and his anatomy and proportions are feminine and strong and graceful and fearsome.

Then her hair and behind it, the fiery embodiment of her spirit, that Phoenix head spitting fire. The detail on her flowing gold sash and the fire give the whole thing movement.

Check out some ofhis other work too - but first look at these pictures of thisone-of-a-kind Phoenix sketch on thick card-stock, this beauty hasnever been rolled up. You can clearly see Moy\'s strokes and bleed on the back. There are no bends, tears, or seams, there is roughness on the top because Phil pulled it from his sketchbook and I\'ve never trimmed it - this has never been framed and has been stored in the dark in a smoke-free, temperature and humidity controlled building.
