Rare Antique Leather Padded GEM SIZE TINTYPE Photo Album, Tiny Civil War/Victorian Pictures

DESCRIPTION: This is a nice example of a classic original small Antebellum/Civil War/Victorian period gem size tintype photo album. Gem size albums were often used by children for friends or school mates, etc., sort of a 1850 version of the modern school yearbook.

THIS ONE HAS A FEW PHOTO OPENINGS, BUT IS STILL MOSTLY FULL. It is a great piece for your collection of albums as is, or can be used to put in your own period gem size tintype photos !!!

This is a nice standard size gemalbum, containing11 pages, with room for 4 standard gem size tintype photos per page......for a total capacity of 44 gems.

The album has aNICE RED/GOLD LEATHER EMBOSSED PATTERN ON THE FRONT & BACK COVERS, gold trimmed pages, and one brass hinge (Missing as these often are).

Very hard to find in any condition.
