Vintage Wilton Armetale salad plate. Stack with dinner, luncheon, and bread plates for agorgeous table, especially when reflecting ambient or candlelight.
Armetale is not pewter. It\'s a custom mix of metals manufactured in the now-closed Mount Joy Pennsylvania factory. They were cast using sand molds, creating a unique pattern.
Some Armetale pieces were buffed to a high shine, others left matte.
Through time and use Armetale develops a personality of history apparent in small scratches, so if you want perfection, Armetale is not for you.
Aremetale can be used both in the freezer and on the stove. It\'s indestructible!
These plates were purchased new and have been loved through many family gatherings.
