7.5x8.5 B&W glossy vintage photograph dated October 7, 1965, signed "Best Wishes Willie Mays" in blue ballpoint ink. Light scattered creasing, otherwise, in good condition.
Willie Mays was nicknamed "the Say Hey Kid", is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball. Regarded as one of the greatest players ever, Mays ranks second behind only Babe Ruth on most all-time lists, including those of The Sporting News and ESPN. Mays played in the National League between 1951 and 1973 for the New York / San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022. Jim Wiggins accumulated the most unique and valuable autograph collection over a period of 70-plus years. He obtained his collection either in person or by writing to persons of fame and notoriety.
