West Australian Zinnwaldite- Specimen - Ubini pegmatites
239gram - this specimen has not been tested to ascertain exact mineral composition. It is a great example of the Ubini amblygonite pegmatites mica.
The Pegmatites of WA Handbook says that there is both zinnwaldite and Lepidolite here. Online accounts say that the lepidolite / Zinnwaldite are not typical and to confuse things more that there is also Trilllithionite in the area. The Lepidolite varies greatly in this area from the tight hard purple at Londonderry - to the broad flake transparent almost red/purple of lepidolite hill. The soft grey spherical habit of the ubini mica is unique and can some time resemble silver/green/grey leaves on the large flaked specimens.
