The Massachusetts was a coastal defense small battleship that served in the Spanish American War as part of the Flying Squadron and took part in blockades of Cienfuegos and Santiago De Cuba. She also served as a training ship for gun crews during WW1. Its use as target practice in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola Florida and then eventually was turned into an artificial reef and is now a popular diving spot.
