You are offerding on a large original antique print from an 1880s illustrated journal. The quality of the printing from that era was exceptional.

It depicts several interesting views of the Washington Memorial being built in the District of Columbia. The main view is the partially built monument as seen from the White House. Most noticeable is the absence of any other buildings on the horizon. The second view is from on top of the partially built monument with a nice view of the coastline of the Potomac River and ports. The small image shows the interior.

The tall vertical picture compares the height of the new monument to other landmarks around the world including the Cologne Cathedral Koln, the Pyramid of Cheops, St. Peters Cathedral in Rome, St. Isaacs Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Strasburg Cathedral, Cathedral of St. Peters and Paul in St. Petersburg,The duomo in Milan, and the Pagoda of Dschaggernath.

The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 16 inches (28 x 40.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a caption below.
