This an exceptional WWII scrapbook compiled by the parent of an American soldier, who was a casualty of the war effort. I believe the scrapbook was compiled during the progress of the war. The son died in 1943, so I believe the parent may have lost interest in finishing the scrapbook after his death, as the scrapbook doesn't include the end of the war. Inside the front page of the scrapbook, I found the memorial certificate with FDR's signature. It wasn't glued in. It has a couple of fold creases, otherwise, excellent. The certificate is included in the sale. The scrapbook is filled with newspaper clippings detailing the allies' successes and Hitler's advances. One article compares FDR to Hitler with FDR's "New Deal". The scrapbook is well done, with folds that allow entire full spread headlines to be viewed. More than 50 pages. Every page is filled with clippings. Very little open space is exposed. This is an exceptional piece of WWII memorabilia - that includes the memorial certificate of the fallen son.
